Swaddle Blankets: I kept the first blanket Braydon was wrapped in from the hospital right after he was born for sentimental value but I will make sure to bring my own swaddle blankets this time! We all know hospital blankets are not the cutest!! I am loving these Bebe au Lait ones!
Socks: I still remember after having Braydon, I was freezing and seriously shivering. The nurse told me it was totally normal after giving birth but I will remember this time to pack lots of extra warm pairs of socks! The hospital socks just don’t cut it!
Pj’s: One of my absolute favorite pair of maternity pj’s and nursing pj’s are BoobDesign Nightwear. They are super soft and perfect for nursing moms since the top of the shirt easily lifts up without exposing your belly.
Mascara: You probably are not going to want to put on a full face of makeup after having the baby while in the hospital! I sure as heck didn’t, but a little mascara never hurt anyone to make you look more alert and awake. Trust me, you will be exhausted! But mascara will help! My current favorite is this one!
Face Wipes: You also are most likely not going to want to do your entire skin care routine in the tiny hospital shower that you barely want to get in anyways! Face wipes are perfect for cleaning your face and also taking off any makeup you may have had on prior to being admitted to the hospital!!!
Body Butter: My skin got sooooo dry after having Braydon, all I had with me was baby lotion and it just wasn’t enough!! I high recommend bringing a natural or organic body butter with little to no scent. You don’t want anything that is going to bother the baby’s sensitive skin but you will need some heavy duty moisturizing! I love the Earth Mama Angel Baby Body Butter!
Nursing Pillow: Nursing pillows come in all shapes and sizes but I have found in the 3 that I tried with Braydon I personally prefer one with support under the baby opposed to something that wraps around my body so thats why this Bebe au Lait on is perfect for me!
Bottles: We used Dr. Brown’s bottles with Braydon and will be using them again with Walker! I love them and trust this brand!! I recommend bringing your bottles with you so that the baby gets used to the nipple unless you are exclusively breast feeding. I pumped and breast fed with Braydon so I wish I had brought our bottles with us!
Breast Pump: This is something you only need obviously if you are breast feeding and/or pumping. It can come in handy to help you begin to produce your breast milk. If you aren’t breast feeding, then obviously this wouldn’t be on your packing list!
Slippers: I totally forgot slippers at the hospital last time and had to send someone back to my house to get some! Ryan and I will both be packing our slippers this time! Ugg Australia Slippers. No one wants to walk barefoot on a hospital floor as well as I sure as heck don’t want to wear shoes all day!
Pacifiers: Braydon never took a paci or his thumb. It wasn’t because I didn’t let him because trust me there are times I begged him to take a paci when nothing else would seem to soothe him to sleep! But we are stocked up and ready to go for Walker just incase he does decide to take them! These orthodontic Dr Brown’s pacifiers will be in our bag!
Blanket: Hospitals can get chilly so make sure to pack a thicker blanket for the babe! I like to bring one from home so it smells like your house to help the baby start recognizing their comfort scent! I love this double sided blanket from Little Bunches!
Carseat: We recently were introduced to Nuna brand and I am slightly in love!!! We have a carseat for both car and the quality plus secure feeling these seats have can NOT be beat! I love the extra support and stabilizer that goes down to your floor board. It just makes me feel like the baby is that much safer! We have the Nuna Pipa Carseats and Bases!
