Baby Einstein is celebrating their 20th birthday! And to celebrate they want to help you celebrate your child’s first! As a mom – as soon as we get past the first few weeks of our head spinning trying to figure out who the heck let us leave the hospital with this tiny human, our minds immediately start wandering and mentally planning the perfect first birthday! During the early years it is so important to constantly stimulate your child’s eyes and mind with noises, colors, and scenery. Why should their birthday be any different? As a young/new mom I had so many questions on whether or not I was doing things right with Braydon. Did I give him enough independent play time, was I letting him watch too much TV (I limited it with him a lot, we only had the TV on for about an hour a day when he was young), was I doing too many things for him and holding him back from figuring it out on his own? As any mom does, I know I made a lot of ‘mistakes’ on these issues. Ryan deployed to Afghanistan when he was 8 weeks old, so I didn’t have a second opinion on a lot of issues on how to raise him and what I was doing right and ‘wrong’.
With Walker, he is the second child, you know a lot more of what you are dong, what you should have done different and so forth. So that alone makes the second child easier. Plus, Ryan is no longer in the military so he no longer is gone for 4-9 months at a time – another ease factor.
The one thing we kept consistent with both of our boys was the use of Baby Einstein. It is the only videos I allowed Braydon to watch before he was 1. Walker, I started letting him watch them later than I did with Braydon to try to avoid the technology addiction so many children have. (Not sure if it’s working or not, haha) Also, as far as their toys go, they are seriously the best toys and some of my boy’s favorite toys. You may ask why, but did you know they have multiple languages in the toys, we alternate between English and Spanish just so the boys start hearing both.. Also, on the Baby Einstein toys, there are multiple settings like music, numbers, colors, animals, you name it! Allowing you to switch the toy around for their stages.
