What are some of your favorite things you love to do that sometimes leave you with a slightly guilty feeling?
One of mine is purchasing fresh flowers multiple times a week at the market. Not only do the flowers typically not last more than a couple of days, but also $8-$12 multiple times a week adds up. This spring, I have decided to plant all types of flowers all around our yard so that I can go out and cut fresh flowers any time we have guests coming over, or when I just need a little color pop to brighten up the house. I am also loving using a pineapple as my vase. I have to change it once a week but it also encourages the family and I to eat a few extra pieces of fruit! It is a great change to a vase or mason jar.
Steps to great your pineapple vase:
1. Cut top of pineapple off creating a smooth surface.
2. Using a long knife, slowly cut out the center of the pineapple creating a vase shape.
3. Place a plastic or glass cup in the pineapple and fill with water for the flowers.
4. Overflow the pineapple with your favorite flowers creating a full look.
Another guilty pleasure turned guiltless is snacking while working. I have a habit of always having a glass of water and a snack by me at all times while on the computer. I have found that by putting nutritious options, beside me not only fill me up faster but also don't leave me with a sugar high followed by a crash, and also don't leave me feeling guilty for all of the calories I did – or in this case didn't – consume.
