Having a clean house is not always easy with two kids and toys all over the floor but when it comes to a dirt vs. mess, to me there is a huge difference! Mess is toys on the floor and things sitting on the counter top. Dirt is dust, crumbs, finger prints and-well-dirt. My house is not often dirty. I am slightly “OCD” as my husband calls me. In the most loving way of course. The way to my heart is help me dust, mop or fold laundry!! So, I wanted to do a little post on 3 quick ways to spruce up your living room before guests come over and they are all very inexpensive and easy!
1. Dust. A dust free home smells better, is easier to breathe in and feels much more welcoming. I use Pledge Lemon Clean because it is PH-balanced unlike other cleaners. It cleans all types of wood and furniture without clouding or removing the finish which is super important when you spend a fortune on your furniture! I also love the lemon scent to help my home to smell fresh and delightful.
2. Use lemons as decor. I always have lemons in my fridge for lemon water, seasoning chicken or whatever I may need them for. Setting out a few fresh ones brings color, and liveliness to your home that you can not get with faux fruits or veggies!
3. Just as with the lemons. There is just something about fresh flowers. The smell, look and feel of them, you just can’t beat! I do have several faux flowers in my home but I love to treat myself to fresh flowers when I go to the grocery store or farmers market. Especially before we have company!
