If you are anything like I used to be when it came to New Years Resolutions, you probably made a list of about 5 resolutions knowing deep down you might only keep them for a few weeks, narrowing it down to the one resolution you aren’t going to break. March comes around and you suddenly realize you haven’t thought about your resolution since the first day of February–oops.
Well, this year I didn’t make any resolutions to diet, work out 6 days a week, work on my blog EVERY SINGLE DAY or even go to bed earlier. I made the resolution to be a better me, mom and wife. With that means when I have the chance to crawl in bed with my family for a movie at 7pm and fall asleep by 8, do it. When I am trying to decide if I would prefer a diet coke or a water, have a few sips of diet coke to quench that craving then switch to water. When I want to sit on my couch and watch Youtube makeup tutorials, I watch my girls on Tone It Up Youtube Channel and get inspired to get off my booty and move. And when I have the choice of which snacks I want to eat (let’s face it, I am going to snack!) choose better foods.
I don’t think I could say I just have either a sweet tooth or a salty tooth, I know some people are very strongly one way or the other but I was cursed with both! I love all food basically. Awesome. I was recently introduced to Simply 7 Snacks which I found at most major retailers nationwide. I have listed some of the retailers below the post with links to their store locators. I was originally looking for chips for a get together we were having to go with my low fat spinach and artichoke dip and was instantly drawn to the types of flavors they had. I then noticed they were also Non-GMO, Gluten Free, No Trans Fat, No Added Preservatives and basically, just simply clean. I decided to try them and became immediately hooked, everyone that has tried them have asked me what kind of chips they were eating and were shocked when I told them how great and wholesome they really are. Best part? They are even good alone, even without a dip!!
For this recipe, I used Simply7 Snack’s new Kale Chips as well as their Lentil Chips but they also have Quinoa and Hummus Chips that are just as delicious! See the bottom of the post for a printable coupon!
My Favorite Spinach and Artichoke Dip Recipe
16-ounces frozen, chopped spinach thawed and drained dry
· 1 cup light or non fat sour cream
· ½ cup light or olive oil mayonnaise
· ¼ cup Parmesan cheese
· 1 jar or quartered artichoke hearts rinsed well, drained
· 1 Hidden Valley Original Ranch Seasoning Mix
Optional- add a few splashes of Worsteshire sauce and/or chopped water chest nuts
I love this dip because it is not too heavy and doesn’t leave you feeling guilty after eating it. I also love that the flavor is mild leaving room for you to still be able to taste the chips!
