Shades of Gray has a new meaning these days. I am not talking about 50 Shades of Gray, I am actually only talking about three. Black, White and Gray. It is sophisticated. Chic. Confident. and Timeless. When in doubt, I fall into one of my shades of gray, or in this case, all three.
Horizontal stripes can be intimidating but the figure-flattering angle fringe detailing on this top makes the stacked stripes seem not so frightening. The Milano top from Banana Republic is a thick viscose fabric that has a bit of stretch to keep this boxy top fitted and comfortable. It is chic and sophisticated while remaining trendy with the fringed hem.
The Avery pant has a trouser fit through the hip and thigh that creates an effortlessly chic tailored silhouette. The cropped hem at the ankle allows for your look to end with a purpose and accent your frame your ankle for your shoes. Also, by showing just a bit of your ankle bone it makes your pants even more slimming.
By pairing this outfit with a simple pair of black point toe leather heels and a black fold-over clutch, I kept my look streamline from head to toe, other than the small pop of color I added in my pink necklace. By adding just a bit of color it doesn’t distract from your look but still lets a little bit of your fun personality shine through. To avoid any type of distraction in your outfit, stick to a simple silver or gold necklace. To add a little more, add some color in your handbag and shoes.
