When was the last time you treated yourself to a new bra? For myself it had been way too long for me to admit! With plenty of holiday obligations from office parties to family gatherings to your neighborhood potluck, now is the perfect time to update your bra collection with that outfit-completing intimate. Plus, with all that holiday shopping you’ve been doing for others for the past week, it’s about time to gift yourself as well.

So you heard ThirdLove has half sizes and you are wondering why? ThirdLove created half-cup sizes to provide a better fit for all women. ThirdLove found that
50% of their bras sold in the A-E range are half-cup sizes. For example, the A1⁄2 is between an A
cup and B cup. The exclusive half-cup sizes are unique to ThirdLove and are only available on
their website and in select Bloomingdale’s stores.

When I was shopping for my new bras I decided to do a little research on what are the most common issues when bra shopping and I found these super helpful tips from ThirdLove::
Slipping straps : Tighten the straps every other month to make sure they’re snug and
supportive.
Band size : You’ll know you’re in the right band size when you can slip two fingers underneath
the back of the band. The band should be snug on the loosest hook, so when your bra
stretches out you can continue to tighten it.

stretches out you can continue to tighten it.
Digging straps : The straps should not be doing the heavy lifting — the bra band should be
doing most of the work! Chances are, your band is too big or has stretched out to the point that
you’re not getting the support you deserve. Try buying one band size smaller.

Cups gaping : First, try tightening the straps. If that doesn’t work, try going down a cup size or
one of our 1⁄2 cup sizes (it may be that your cup is just a little too big). If your cup fits well but
there’s a little room at the top, try a Plunge or Push-Up style. These cups are angled and tend
to be cut a little smaller to reduce gaping.

Side overflow : Sometimes, your breast can spill out of the side of the cup because the cup is
too small — just size up in the cup. Another possibility is that the band is not tight enough,
causing the wire to sit on your breast. Size down in the band and up in the cup. A snug band
should pull the wire back and allow your breast to sit into the cup properly.
