Today’s dad is engaged more than ever before with his kids and redefining what is means to be a father. I knew Ryan would make a great husband, a great best friend and a great father. That being said, I couldn’t ever have imagined how in love and engaged he would be with our boys. From learning to walk, throw and catch a ball and soon-to-be tee ball and soccer; Ryan is always cheering on the boys.
The boys grandpa, Ryan’s dad, passed away a little over a year ago. One of the things Ryan mentioned in his speech at the funeral – and every day to me when I was pregnant is that he just hopes he can be half the dad his father was to him and wants to have that strong bond with his boys. Ryan and his father had the relationship where they were more so brothers and best friends than father and son. They would play basketball together, go to movies together, watch football together and go to the bars together. Ryan talked to his dad every single day.
When I was creating Ryan’s Fathers Day gift on Snapfish from the boys, I wanted it to be all about Ryan being the father to our boys that his dad was to him. Through out his photo book I mentioned how he was the boys father, coach, best friend, teacher, role model, etc. But most of all – he is the father to them that his dad was to him.
What are you getting your dad or husband for Father’s Day? Need ideas? Snapfish has plenty of great gifts to make sure dad feels appreciated, loved, and is
