Do you wear glasses? All the time? Only when you drive? Regardless to when we wear glasses - we want to look and feel our best and do not want our eyes disappearing behind the glass.
Growing up I wore glasses and contacts. My eyes would get so dry from the contacts and feel like raisins by the end of the day - but it was the sacrifice I made so I didn't have to wear glasses.
It was not because I didn't like glasses, I actually find them extremely cute. I just didn't feel pretty in them and looking back now it was because I had no clue what I was doing with my makeup under those glasses and I didn't know what type of frame to purchase for my face shape. I got lasik eye surgery about 6 years ago and after having two kids, my eye sight started changing again. If anyone has had lasik, you know it is not the most pleasant experience and I vowed I would never go through it again! Plus - I am excited about being able to wear fun little frames on my face!
Check out below for some of my full proof tips on wearing makeup with glasses.
Okay first up are the eyebrows. Make them just a tad darker and thicker than you normally would. Eyebrows are the frame for your face and you do not want them hiding behind your glasses!
Also, glasses can make under your eyes appear darker and can make fine lines and wrinkles stand out a bit more. To avoid this - put on a little extra concealer one shade lighter than normal! Once your glasses are on you will never be able to tell!!
You may not think about the rest of your face when you are thinking about makeup and glasses but actually, your contouring and highlighting are SO important. Make your cheek bones pop and more dramatic by shadowing under the apple of your cheek and highlighting right above your cheek bone. It will give your face a more chiseled look creating a more flattering back drop for your glasses to sit on.
Wing your eyeliner and pile on the mascara. I even lined my bottom waterline to create more of a dark pop on my eyes. If you are not an eyeliner wearer. Apply a lot of mascara and add some false lashes for thickness!
And there you have it! A full proof and easy way to adjust your makeup so you look and feel your best in your glasses at all times!
