First things first – let’s talk about where to stay! I have stayed everywhere from in the middle of all the chaos that is Miami Swim week all the way to 15-20 minutes away because I wanted to have the opportunity to decompress from the commotion when needed. This time I met in the middle and stayed about a mile away from the shows and events and it was honestly the perfect location. All of my Ubers were under $7 except for our airport Ubers. There was still a lot going on but it wasn’t any swim week festivities so it allowed us to really soak in – what Miami is really like! We stayed at the El Paseo Hotel on Espanola Way. El Paseo is a quaint little 3 story hotel with French and Spanish inspiration. Also, it has the prettiest wall you ever did see when you walk into the lobby (see my sequin outfit picture for the wall.) Espanola Way literally had the best food y’all. If you watched my insta stories you saw there is a restaurant right down from our hotel entrance that literally makes the pasta FRESH in the window!! It was insane and so, so, so good! I think it was called Pane & Vino! We also ate at Piccola Cucina where we met the owners. It is an Italian Family owned and ran business. Everything we tried, I literally couldn’t help but repeat myself every time – “Oh My Gawdddddd, this is so good!!!” Anyways – I highly recommend anything on Espanola Way. They have the street blocked off so there are no cars on it and people are literally just hanging out and drinking and enjoying themselves. It really is amazing!
THURSDAY MORNING – Thursday morning we woke up early and headed to Nordstrom to shop the #NSale! We then came back and got ready and headed out to a few events and shows!
THURSDAY EVENING – We had an event at the Standard Hotel which is a great place to shoot if you like greenery or bright yellow umbrellas! We ended the night around 11pm and headed back to the hotel – which is when we got sucked into our 11:30 pm dinner due to fresh pasta making in the window! LOL
FRIDAY MORNING – One of my best blogging friends, Kristin Chambless of Color by K alongside Amanda from Fashionable Hostess (who I just met that morning but now adore her!!) hosted the most insane brunch for about 20 bloggers/influencers. It was hosted at Amanda’s uncles house and was honestly INSANE and a better brunch than most brands would even throw!
FRIDAY EVENING – Brunch was HOT and we were sweaty!! haha So we headed back to the hotel to shower and get ready for the evening. We had a few shows, a few events, then a few more shows to attend. Friday night was more of a run and make an appearance and then on to the next thing type of night! I kind of like those nights though, you get to see a lot more people that you know and also connect with more brands.
SATURDAY MORNING – We started the morning and day at two different brand suites. Full of cocktails and brunch. We got to reconnect with a lot of brands that I meet with every year at NYFW. It is always good to see familiar faces when out and about in another city.
SATURDAY EVENING – Saturday evening was our busiest night as far as shows. We hit I think 6 shows in about 5 hours! It was slightly exhausting but beyond thrilling. I love a good bikini runway show! Our last show ended after midnight and I legit could barely put shoes on my feet the next morning, but so worth it! Two of my favorite shows on Saturday were Acacia and Kaohs. Beyond original and entertaining!
SUNDAY MORNING – By Sunday – we couldn’t believe we hadn’t seen the beach yet. Miami beaches are WAYYYYYY different than 30A beaches. I probably shouldn’t say this but – they kinda suck! hahaha…regardless – they have the best lifeguard towers in Florida so we had to go pay a few of them a visit of course – for photos!
SUNDAY AFTERNOON – After shooting on the beach we ran back to the hotel and packed out bags, changed into our airport outfits, and went to meet a few girlfriends at a brand brunch and then a rosé event before we headed to the airport that evening. As much fun as we had – and as excited as I am to go back next year, it is so good to be back home with my babies!
