After a long hot day on the beach, by the pool or even at the splash pad – it is nice to come home to an ice cold drink! I personally prefer chocolate milk, myself – but both of my boys always choose 2% over chocolate and of course, mama is not complaining! Did you know that fairlife’s SuperKids ultra-filtered milk has 3.5x the DHA versus the leading DHA Omega-3 milk? In fact, the SuperKids 2% reduced fat ultra-filtered milk has 30% less sugar than the leading DHA Omega-3 milk!
DHA – we all heard these three letters over and over during each pregnancy. And even some after baby was born for yourself if you’re breast feeding and even if you were formula feeding. So what exactly is it and why would I care if the boys are still drinking it at ages 2 and almost 5?
Well I am not a doctor or scientist – so naturally I had to research DHA when I was learning too but basically it is crucial for healthy structure, growth and function of the brain. Kind of important huh? So the reason we want it while we are pregnant, nursing and when our children are young is obviously because their sweet little brains are going at such a rapid speed – they need they support that DHA can offer them.
I make sure our boys are getting their DHA in the cereal in the mornings, at lunch with a small glass, as well as at night time if they ask for cookies. Cookies gotta come with milk, right? Why not make it a beneficial milk since I am pretty sure those cookies don’t have much nutritional value to offer – other than an extra mixture of teeth brushing!
If your kids are like the average American kid – mine are strange and do not like juice and prefer white milk over chocolate – check out fairlife’s SuperKids chocolate ultra-filtered milk because it has 50% less sugar than the leading DHA Omega-3 milk, which makes it a lot easier for us moms to pour a big glass for the kiddos or even ourselves. I personally enjoy drinking mine during our night time TV on the couch out of a stemless wine glass!
