This post is sponsored by Dr. Brown’s. Thank you for supporting the brands that I love! As always – all opinions are my own.
If you follow me on instagram and happen to watch my stories from time to time there are two things that I am extremely open about and am a full believer in. That is breast milk and Dr. Browns bottles. We have been customers of Dr. Brown’s for over 5 years now. As a hairstylist – I had the opportunity to ask mom’s (my clients) questions about motherhood, advice, and recommendations while I was pregnant with Braydon. One of the most recommended bottle brand was Dr. Brown’s. We decided to register for them for our baby shower and have been hooked ever since. Five and a half years later and three kiddos later, we are still using them.
One of my favorite thing this time around with Dr. Brown’s is an option that we didn’t have with either of the boys, and that is the Option Bottle. So, what is it? Basically, the pink (or green if you have a boy, and blue if its the original) ‘tube’ you see going through the middle of every Dr. Brown’s bottle is a vent. This is what makes them so great for newborns and young babies. The vent helps to prevent air getting to baby which then helps to prevent colic, gas, etc. What I love about the option bottles is, once baby is old enough to where those aren’t really an issue anymore – you don’t have to use the vent. Which means, one less thing to clean once it is not necessary.
So, want to hear another item we have been using for almost 3 years now? We didn’t have the luxury of having it with Braydon and I had no idea how much more difficult my life was without it until we started using it and that is the Deluxe Bottle Warmer. Duh!! Right? Well, literally I used to warm Braydon’s bottles up the old fashion way. I would warm water in the microwave in a coffee mug and then let the bottle soak for about 5-10 minutes until warm. Hello?!?! Who has time for that? I now get Charli, and at one point, Walker’s, bottles warm in anywhere from 2-5 minutes tops! Depending on how much milk is in the bottle. It is quick, easy, and I still can’t believe I didn’t have it with Braydon.
Lastly, one more item we now can’t live without once we started using it – when it comes to feeding Charli – is the Deluxe Bottle Sterilizer. I do not use it every day but I pull it out about every other night and sterilize everything! Pump accessories, bottles, bottle accessories, pacifiers, etc. Anything that will go in Charli’s mouth or touch her milk. It gives me peace of mind knowing any bacteria I may miss during hand washing her bottles is being killed, keeping her safer and healthy.
Quick Tip: The bottle sterilizer is great too if your have sippy cups, or anything for your older kids that they take to school in their lunches.
