We have a drawer full of old picture frames in our house that we are not using anymore because, well…we don’t like the frames anymore. So I figured, why not try to make them a little more “like-able”
I took 2 black frames shown here and put 2 coats of just an acrylic antique white paint on them.
‘
I let the frames dry for a few hours (actually over night, but that isn’t necessary) and then used painters tape to give them a design.
On the vertical striped one, I tore a few pieces of the tape to give it a rough edge.
I LOVE ANNIE SLOAN CHALK PAINT! It is sooooo easy to work with! I painted one coat of the chalk paint all over the frames that didn’t have tape, and even on one frame I just painted the whole thing. I did not worry about making it perfect or the texture of the paint, I wanted it to look like I did not really try.
Once the paint had dried for about 30 minutes, chalk paint dries super quick if it is only one coat, I took a small piece of sand paper and just ran it all over the frames, harder in some places than others to distress them.
Here are the finished frames!! I can not wait to hang them in Braydon’s nursery!!!!!..oh and fix the one on the left where the picture is sliding down! π haha
Happy Crafting!
