Happy Spring guys! Summer is right around the corner and since we are always in the sun and on the beach I commonly get asked what sunscreen I use on my face and my kids so I figured it would be easiest to create a blog post with what we use most – ie. our favorites! This will give you guys a place to refer to instead of having to repeat myself over and over on insta stories and in DM’s 🙂
For the kiddos, we love the stick sunscreen. This keeps the sunscreen from dripping into their eyes since its much stickier and thicker and allows me to get all over the face, and close to the eyes – again, without getting it in their eyes. I also love that these are much thicker – and I feel like it lasts so much longer than regular sunscreen. That being said – it can be a pain to get off in the bath if it gets stuck around the hairline – but its much better than burning eyes or a sun burn. These are the two we have on hand that you can grab at Target or Walmart or order online from Amazon Prime too.
Tip: Keep baby powder in your beach bag. It will brush the sand right off of their face and bodies so you can get a good smooth application of sunscreen!
We love Supergoop sunscreen! I was introduced to this brand about 4-5 years ago in a PR package and now I always order this one online (we use both the SPF 30 and SPF 50) ! The spray is great, doesn’t burn if you have sensitive skin and is great for coating the kids super quickly on the beach while they are running wild. I also really love this duo sunscreen for my face (this isn’t the only one I use but I really like this one) on the beach – it also has a lip moisturizing sunscreen too which is crazy. I didn’t even realize my lips could get sunburnt honestly until we moved to Florida. But it’s a real thing and so now I always keep them covered! The duo sunscreen is great to keep in your purse too because it is smaller and great to whip out at a baseball game or the park when you may have forgotten sunscreen!
So I actually fell in love with this primer because of how smooth it makes my skin look, it’s just an added bonus that it has SPF in it. My makeup goes on so flawless after applying this and I love that it doesn’t ball up or give my skin a weird texture after applying like some other primers do! Once you guys try this primer – you will be hooked!
On days that I do not wear makeup, I always wear this SPF 50. Also, if I know I am going to be in the sun a lot that day – I actually apply this under my primer with SPF in it to give me a stronger double layer! I regret all of the years that I allowed my face to get tan and sun and am trying to make up for it as much as possible by keeping it protected every day now!
This was a super quick post, but like I mentioned, I wanted you guys to have a reference for sunscreen since the weather is warming up and we are all going to be outside and on vacay so much more!!!
