I used to have such a hard time getting the perfect winged eye. I wanted them to look subtle yet defined enough to make a statement and make my eyes look more alert and cat-like. A few years ago – I was reading a beauty article in a magazine and it showed me this trick with scotch tape and I was instantly amazed as well as a professional at the winged eye. Literally, within seconds – I became a master! It was amazing…and now, well..you can be a master too!
When Stage Stores asked me to team up with them to share a Holiday beauty tip I knew I HAD to share this tip with you guys, I hope it makes your holiday makeup process much quicker and easier! Not to mention, Stage Stores offers a variety of products from all of my favorite brands that I love at a value I love, such as Estée Lauder, Sigma, the Balm, and so many more!
So, what makes the winged liner so easy is the scotch tape. By placing the tape from the corner of your eye to the outer edge of your eyebrow, you are basically creating a stencil for you to use for your eyeshadow and liner! Tip: if your skin is sensitive and it hurts when you remove the tape – stick the tape to the back of your hand before placing it on your face to remove some of the ‘stickiness.’
If you head to my Instagram here, for the next 24 hours (or in my Beauty Highlights Tab, if after 24 hours) I have a video step by step tutorial on how I did this!
For my holiday makeup look, I picked out the Balm natural foil shadows. The foil adds a bit of a pop and shimmer to your regular eyeshadow. If you are doing this later in the year and wanting a more natural look, use matte non-shimmer colors.
Sigma brushes are my absolute favorite, and when I found out that Stage Stores had ALL of the Sigma brushes I needed to restock on I was so excited! The liquid eyeliner that I used was this one. As I am writing this post – I have had this liner on ALL day, through the rain, and it hasn’t budged!!! So, consider it approved!!!
Once my eyes are complete, I remove the tape and continue my makeup as usual. The bronzer pictured above is an oldie that I decided to repurchase and retry. I started using this when I was in college (maybe even younger than that to be honest) and used it for years. Then, I sort of just forgot about it. I can’t believe I did because I love this one more than any of the other ones I have been using! I can’t believe I went that long without it!!!
I typically do a bolder lip for parties and holiday events, and this lip liner works for just about every single shade I have used. Neutral and bold! It’s truly the best color and pretty much adjusts to whatever lip color you are wearing. The best part about it is that it has a lip brush on the other end to blend your liner in with your lip to make it look more natural.
