I have several friends who are expecting and so I am in full baby mode, and for the first time…it is not because of my own!!! Yay!!! haha
I absolutely love all things baby – suppose that is why we have three children. I get so excited about baby showers and when my friends are expecting. While I am always thankful for each and every gift I get – I still, to this day remember a gift my best friend Meghan gave me when I was pregnant with Braydon! So, yes – my first baby!!! We are talking over 6 years ago, and this gift still stands out to me. So what did she give me?
\
Well, she took a simple laundry basket – just a square white one, just like this one that we still use! And she stuffed it! I mean, stuffed it! Clothes, blankets, diapers, wipes, creams, bottles, pacifiers, and toys. Literally anything and everything – it was just flowing out of it! I got everything I “needed” in one gift. Which – I know can get a little expensive. The diapers alone are an investment! Ha! But – that is why I was so excited when I just found that Gerber has an AFFORDABLE organic line of essential clothing pieces, available at Buy Buy Baby. When I say affordable, I mean – every piece is under $15!!! Allowing you to get multiple items to stuff your basket with! So, the collection is made with organically grown cotton that feels soft and lightweight on baby’s skin!! The blankets feel like clouds! And, it is available in a dusty pink and a grey-blue, the collection includes everything from bodysuits and sleep ‘n play outfits to take-me-home sets and receiving blankets, all styled with on-trend fox and bunny prints.
The bodysuits feature expandable lap shoulder necklines for a no-fuss, easy on and off dressing < This will come to be a very important thing, you will end up never buying anything with a tight neckline!
What else should you include in your gift? Below you can see all of my suggestions!
Laundry Basket, Diaper Genie Refills, baby monitor (or something big off of the registry), diapers, wipes, bottles, and pacifiers!
**One of my little mama tips is to give them several different kinds of bottles and pacifiers, instead of multiples of just one. The reason for this is that you never know what type of bottle or pacifier your baby is going to take. This way – it allows mama to try out several kinds before she splurges on multiples of the same one! I can’t tell you how many brands I had anywhere from 3 to 12 of that specific type of bottle, and not one of my kids took them!
