When we first moved into our house. I was pregnant with Walker and was so excited about having two boys that I painted our small guest bathroom (which also doubles as the boys bathroom) a dark navy and went for an entire Pottery Barn nautical theme. I realized later on so many things wrong about our adorable bathroom I was so excited to create. It wasn’t guest friendly and the dark walls made it feel even smaller than it was!
So, a little side note. Ryan lets me do all of the decorating in the house – as I am sure many of your husbands do. That being said – he also is a pretty firm believer in “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Soooo, we kind of have a little running joke that every time he travels for work he comes home on a scavenger hunt to see what I have changed or done to the house! Basically, he looks to see where I spent money. haha
This past time he left, he was in Guam for 3 weeks so I decided I had plenty of time to redo our bathroom I was urning to do for a while now. I had my dad come over and help me rip out our old sink and vanity and I ordered this one from Wayfair. ||Which is 55% off by the way!!!|| It came it and it looks even better than I thought it would. It seriously looks like a custom built in! Due to the underneath being open. I actually had to extend the flooring (which we had extra of from the builders). Yes, I cut and glued them down myself! Pretty handy huh? haha!
I then decided to paint the entire bathroom white. The reason I chose white is because the light color would brighten the windowless room and it also makes it seem much bigger when the start and end point of the baseboards and ceiling aren’t as obvious.
For the decor in the room, I kept it all light and airy. I chose a natural basket and a gray and white shower curtain to pull in the white and the gray from the vanity. Since it is a guest bathroom I like to have the toilet paper out and visible. It is always uncomfortable and using the bathroom and realizing there is no toilet paper so you have to go search under their sink praying they have some in there! I like to avoid that feeling for my guests and since there is no telling if the boys used the last of the toilet paper I like to keep it out and visible at all times.
For the the rest of the decor – I have been on a mixed metal kick. I love gold and silver together in my jewelry and in my home decor. I picked out these adorable natural golden frames from Framebridge to frame these sweet photos of the kids we took with Jackie when Charli was first born. They will forever be some of my favorite pictures and I wanted them up so everyone could see them when they came to visit. I have actually been a long time client of Framebridge. I have been ordering from them since Walker was first born and we got his newborn pictures framed through them as well. It is so easy to use their platform on their website and makes it seamless and easy as they do the matting and framing for you so your not on a frame hunt through 5 different stores until you find the perfect frames! Who has time for that with three kids? Ha! Framebridge is being so kind and giving all LHB readers 15% off with code lipstickheels15 until 12/31!!!! This is the perfect Christmas gift for anyone! Especially if they live far away because you can have it sent, ready to hang – directly to their doorstep!
