I don’t know if you guys remember but in September of last year I flew to Indiana straight from NYFW to tour Fair Oaks farms and learn all about how fairlife® ultra-filtered milk is made. So the reason for me telling you this is – both of our boys had milk allergies the first few years of their lives, or so we thought. Apparently, it was just lactose allergies. I know what your thinking, lactose free milk is so gross – but just keep reading! I know from experience, that fairlife ultra-filtered milk has a rich, creamy taste you will love without the sugary after taste of most lactose free milks. Before knowing this or about fairlife ultra-filtered milk; for Braydon, we switched him to Soy formulas after I stopped breast feeding and then soy milk once he was 1 years old. We then read way too many negatives about soy milk and quickly discontinued use of it.
With Walker – I did my research again and decided to go with coconut milk – that didn’t work out and his body was having negative reactions to it so we switched to almond milk and were happy with it. Or, so we thought. I didn’t realize the lack of protein he was missing until I visited Fair Oaks, IN and learned about fairlife ultra-filtered milk, which has 13x more protein than typically found in almond milk. That means he needs about 13 less bottles a day!! (ONLY KIDDING!!) But really, knowing the milk was sticking with him and providing him the protein he needed helped me to feel a lot better about all of those bottles and sippy cups of milk he was having in between meals + he didn’t seem to need as many anymore and we switched to drinking more water. For Every cup (or bottle, in our case) of fairlife ultra-filtered milk is a good source of 9 essential vitamins and minerals without any artificial growth hormones. I have now started to have a glass of fairlife ultra-filtered whole milk or chocolate milk at night on the couch before we head to bed. It keeps me from waking up around 2am craving any and all food I can think of!
We have started keeping a carton of each fairlife ultra – filtered milk in our fridge at all times. Due to the lack of sugar it has + the additional protein we have found it benefits all of the foods we eat! The boys use 2% in their cereal; Ryan and I use skim in ours. I use skim for light cooking and whole milk when I am making something like mac n cheese and want a little more fat added. And Ryan drinks chocolate milk after every workout as well as I drink that or the whole milk before bed!
Have you tried fairlife ultra-filtered milk yet? If so, what did you think!! I would love to hear your favorite ways to cook with it or your favorite time to enjoy it!
